Redwoods

After another extended period in the car (20ish hours?) we landed at the Mill Creek Campground in the Redwood National Forest. Let me tell you, it was worth the drive.

This is probably one of the most peaceful, awe-inspiring places I have seen in my entire life. Nothing makes you feel smaller than standing next to trees that are hundreds, even thousands of years old. The crazy thing is that they are alive. They have withstood fire, rain, snow, and human destruction with a kind of steadiness that I cannot liken to anything else. It really puts your own life into perspective.

While hiking we stopped for a bit to play around in this stream 😀 I took a YOLO swim (hehehe)

We ended our day watching the sun set over the Pacific before heading back to our campsite to stuff ourselves with pizza sandwiches 🙂
